Access control for East Bay and Marin businesses
Readers, keypads, electric locks and the door hardware that has to work with them. We install it, we fix what someone else installed, and we answer the phone at 11 at night when a door will not lock.

It usually starts with one door
Someone left and the keys did not come back
A fob or a card can be shut off in a minute. A key cannot. That is usually the call that starts an access control job.
The front door is propped open all day
Deliveries, staff and visitors all need in. An electric strike with a keypad or reader lets the door stay closed without slowing anyone down.
The mag lock door will not let go
A stuck exit is a safety problem, not an inconvenience. We trace it to the sensor, the push button, the power supply or the wiring and fix the cause.
The closer slams, or the door never latches
A worn or badly adjusted closer leaves a locked door unlocked. We adjust, rebuild or replace it so the door shuts and latches every time.
Panic bar sticks or the dogging is broken
Exit devices get pushed thousands of times. We repair or replace bars, rim and vertical rod devices, and the trim on the outside.
Too many master keys out there
We rekey the building to a new master key system and start a key record, so you know who holds what.
Every part of the door, not just the lock
Access control only works when the door closes, latches and releases the way it should. We handle the reader and everything it depends on.

How a commercial quote works
A single repair, like a closer or a panic bar, gets a range on the phone and a final number at the door, before any work starts. Access control is different: two doors that look the same can need very different wiring, so we walk the site first and put the scope and the price in writing.
Nothing is ordered until you sign off on it. The invoice is itemized by door and carries our license number, LCO 8138.
Before you call about a door
Can you add a reader to the door we already have?
Usually, yes. On most commercial doors an electric strike or an electrified lever goes in without replacing the door. Glass storefronts often take a magnetic lock instead. We tell you which after we see the door.
What happens to the door if the power goes out?
It depends on what you choose. A fail safe lock opens without power, which is what the code calls for on most exit doors. A fail secure lock stays locked from the outside and still lets people out with the handle. We set each door up the right way for how it is used.
An employee lost a fob. Do we need to rekey?
No. The lost fob gets turned off in the system and a new one gets issued. That is the main reason businesses move from keys to readers.
Do you service hardware someone else installed?
Yes. Closers, panic bars, strikes, mag locks and readers from the common manufacturers. If a part is no longer made, we say so and quote the replacement.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes. Many commercial jobs are done in the evening or on a weekend so the doors are never out of service while you are open.
