A Fairfax Locksmith That Drives Up the Hill to You
Fairfax homes climb into the hills, and cars park wherever they fit. We bring the shop in a van: car keys cut and programmed at the car, new locks or a rekey for the house, and a way back inside when you are locked out.

Start with what happened
Fairfax Car Keys Made at the Car
Lost or broken key, dead fob, push-to-start remote. We cut and program for most makes in your driveway or on the street. Proof of ownership required.

Door shut with the keys inside? Non-destructive entry comes first. If drilling is needed, you hear why and say yes before it happens.

Dead batteries, a forgotten code or an app that will not pair with the lock. We get smart locks working again so the door does its job.

Fairfax, From Bolinas Road to the Manor
Downtown Fairfax is compact. Town Hall sits on Bolinas Road with the Pavilion on the hill behind it, a hall the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Boys built and finished in 1921. Center Boulevard runs into the downtown business district, Pastori Avenue meets it near the old Marin Town and Country Club grounds, and the Manor area rises above town. We come over from Concord and work at the house, the shop or the car.
A piece of the hills' past: from 1913 to 1929, the Marin History Museum says, Fairfax had a funicular. Its 26 seat cars ran along 1,500 feet of track from Sequoia Road to upper Scenic. The incline is long gone, so these days the climb to a hillside lockout happens in a van with the tools on board.

Straight talk about price
On the phone you tell us what happened, and we give you a ballpark based on that. When the technician arrives, the first thing he does is look at the lock and make sure it matches what you described. A door that sounded simple can turn out to be a different story, and sometimes it is the other way around.
Then you hear the final number, before a single tool touches the lock. You decide, and only then we start. No surprises on the bill, and the receipt carries our license number, LCO 8138.
A name with a reason behind it
Soufiane Gmira named the company in honor of his great-grandfather, who fought in Vietnam. The respect for people who served never left him, and it is the reason every active duty service member and veteran gets a discount from us.
Military and veteran discount. Mention it when you call. That is all it takes.
Asked by neighbors
Can you change all the locks on our Fairfax house to work with one key?
Usually. If the locks are compatible and in good shape, we rekey them to one key. If you would rather have new hardware, we change the locks instead. Either way the technician checks first and gives you the final price before starting, and the choice is yours.
Our house is high in the hills above town. Will you come up?
Yes. The van is a full shop on wheels and goes wherever there is a road and a place to park. Give us the address and a short description on the phone for a ballpark. The final price comes from the technician once the lock has been checked, before any tool touches it.
Do you offer a discount for veterans?
Yes. Patriot Lock And Key offers a military and veteran discount. Let us know when you call. Everything else works the same way: a ballpark on the phone, the final price at the door before any work starts, and an itemized receipt with our license number at the end.
