Hills, flats and two shopping centers
Corte Madera has two very different halves. Up on Christmas Tree Hill, the streets are narrow, steep and winding, many of them one lane, and until the 1920s most homes there were reached by footpaths and steps. Down on the flats, The Village and Town Center bring parking lots and storefronts. A lockout on the hill and a broken fob at Town Center call for different tools. The van carries both.
The name goes back to 1776, when Spain set up a fort at the entrance to San Francisco Bay. Soldiers went out in small boats to gather wood for cooking and heating at the Presidio, and called the place Arroyo Corte Madera, the stream where cord wood is found. Our take: they crossed the water to keep a fort warm at night. We come over to keep your doors locked.

Straight talk about price
On the phone you tell us what happened, and we give you a ballpark based on that. When the technician arrives, the first thing he does is look at the lock and make sure it matches what you described. A door that sounded simple can turn out to be a different story, and sometimes it is the other way around.
Then you hear the final number, before a single tool touches the lock. You decide, and only then we start. No surprises on the bill, and the receipt carries our license number, LCO 8138.
A name with a reason behind it
Soufiane Gmira named the company in honor of his great-grandfather, who fought in Vietnam. The respect for people who served never left him, and it is the reason every active duty service member and veteran gets a discount from us.
Military and veteran discount. Mention it when you call. That is all it takes.
Asked by neighbors
We just bought a house in Corte Madera. Should we rekey or change the locks?
If the locks are in good shape and you like them, a rekey is usually enough: same hardware, new key, and the old keys stop working. If they are worn, mismatched, or you want a smart lock, a lock change makes more sense. The technician looks at them, gives the price first, and you choose.
Can your van get up the narrow streets on Christmas Tree Hill?
Narrow, steep, one-lane streets are part of working in Marin. When you call, give the exact address and a good place to park. If the van has to stay below, the technician walks up with what the job needs. The final price is given at the door before any work starts.
Do you offer a military or veteran discount?
Yes. Patriot Lock And Key offers a military and veteran discount. Mention it when you call and again to the technician on site. You get a ballpark on the phone, the final price before any work begins, and an itemized receipt with our license number, LCO 8138.
