Lytton Square downtown got its name in 1918. It was named for Lytton Barber, Mill Valley's first military casualty of World War I. My older Mill Valley house still has its original door hardware. Do I have to replace it to change the keys?
Not always. A rekey changes the inside of the lock so the old keys stop working, and you keep the hardware you have. If a lock is too worn to rekey, the technician shows you why and gives you the price for a replacement before any tool touches it. You decide.
