Locked Out in Sausalito? We Come to the Door
In Sausalito the call is usually about a door: keys left inside, a lock that stopped turning, or a new place that needs fresh keys. Patriot Lock And Key brings the van to the hillside, the waterfront or the dock, seven days a week.

From the Hill Down to the Water
Sausalito is a small town stacked on a steep hillside above the bay. Up top, houses sit on winding streets. Down below, Bridgeway runs along the shore past Dunphy Park and the ferry landing at Humboldt and Anchor. At the north end, Caledonia Street and the old Marinship area mix businesses into surviving wartime buildings, and the houseboats sit on the waterfront beyond. A houseboat door locks like any front door, and we rekey and replace those too.
The Bay Model, built in 1957 as a research tool, sits in Building 29, which was the Marinship Outfitting Warehouse during the war. A building that once held gear for ships now holds the bay in miniature. Old buildings around here keep finding new uses, and every new tenant should start out with new keys.

Straight talk about price
On the phone you tell us what happened, and we give you a ballpark based on that. When the technician arrives, the first thing he does is look at the lock and make sure it matches what you described. A door that sounded simple can turn out to be a different story, and sometimes it is the other way around.
Then you hear the final number, before a single tool touches the lock. You decide, and only then we start. No surprises on the bill, and the receipt carries our license number, LCO 8138.
A name with a reason behind it
Soufiane Gmira named the company in honor of his great-grandfather, who fought in Vietnam. The respect for people who served never left him, and it is the reason every active duty service member and veteran gets a discount from us.
Military and veteran discount. Mention it when you call. That is all it takes.
Asked by neighbors
Can you rekey or change the lock on a houseboat?
Yes. A houseboat door takes the same kinds of locks as a house, and we rekey or replace them the same way. Tell us on the phone what kind of lock it is and how to get to the dock, and we give you a ballpark. The technician confirms the final price at the door before starting.
I just moved into a house on the hill. Should I rekey or replace the locks?
If the locks work well, a rekey is usually enough: the old keys stop working and you keep the hardware. If a lock sticks, is worn, or you want something different like a smart lock, replacing makes more sense. The technician looks at each door, gives you the price, and you decide.
Do you work on businesses in the Marinship area after hours?
Yes, we are open every day until 11:30 PM. We handle door closers, panic bars, card and fob readers, keypads, electric strikes, magnetic locks and master keys. If a door will not latch at closing time, call and describe it. You get a ballpark on the phone and the final price before any work starts.
