Rekeys and New Deadbolts
Bought a home on the island or the Lagoon? A rekey makes every old key useless. Worn or outdated locks get replaced, and you approve the price first.
See the serviceSmart Locks That Need Help
Dead batteries, a lost code, an app that will not pair. We get smart locks on front doors and gates working again, or replace them when they are done.

Belvedere Island and the Lagoon
Belvedere voted to become a city in December 1896, and it is still small. It takes in Belvedere Island and the Lagoon, with homes along Beach Road and San Rafael Avenue looking out on Belvedere Cove. Homes on the island sit on hillside lots, often with gates and long walks to the door. Older houses tend to have hardware worth keeping, so we rekey before we suggest replacing. Newer ones lean on smart locks, which need batteries, codes and apps that behave.
Before the Lagoon held houses, it held arks. These flat-bottomed houseboats spent summer in Belvedere Cove and came into the Lagoon for winter. When the drawbridge became a fixed span, they could no longer get in, and some arks were towed ashore. Remnants still stand on Ark Row in Tiburon. Closing up for the season once meant locking a house that floated.

Straight talk about price
On the phone you tell us what happened, and we give you a ballpark based on that. When the technician arrives, the first thing he does is look at the lock and make sure it matches what you described. A door that sounded simple can turn out to be a different story, and sometimes it is the other way around.
Then you hear the final number, before a single tool touches the lock. You decide, and only then we start. No surprises on the bill, and the receipt carries our license number, LCO 8138.
A name with a reason behind it
Soufiane Gmira named the company in honor of his great-grandfather, who fought in Vietnam. The respect for people who served never left him, and it is the reason every active duty service member and veteran gets a discount from us.
Military and veteran discount. Mention it when you call. That is all it takes.
Asked by neighbors
We have a gate at the street and a front door up the stairs. Can both use one key?
Often, yes, if the gate lock and the door lock are compatible. We rekey them to the same key, or replace the one that cannot match. The technician checks both on arrival and gives you the final price before any tool touches them. You decide what gets done.
Our smart lock stopped responding while we were away. Can you get us in without damage?
We try non-destructive entry first, every time. Then we look at the lock itself: dead batteries, a lost code or an app that will not pair. Often it can be brought back. If it cannot, we tell you why and give you the price of a replacement before doing anything.
Do you have an office in Belvedere?
No. Patriot Lock And Key is a mobile locksmith based in Concord, and there is no walk-in shop. The van carries the tools and comes to your home or car. We are open daily from 7:30 AM to 11:30 PM, Spanish is spoken, and our California locksmith license is LCO 8138.
